ON Semiconductor is planning a more than $6.6 million expansion, adding up to 34 jobs at its Eastman Business Park site—growing its current test and assembly operations over the next two years. The expansion is expected to be completed at the end of 2018.
Empire State Development is helping to facilitate the company’s growth in New York State through a $4.3 million Finger Lakes Forward Upstate Revitalization Initiative Grant. The company will also receive tax credits of $1.7 million in exchange for job creation commitments. The company plans to invest more than $1.6 million in facility and equipment upgrades.
“New key products that are part of the ON Semiconductor imaging growth strategy will be assembled and tested here in Rochester,” said Herb Erhardt, General Manager Industrial Solutions Division at ON Semiconductor. “This builds on the rich digital imaging history of this location and our business. Over the years, the Rochester site has been instrumental in developing innovative sensor technologies for applications ranging from digital still cameras to state-of-the-art machine vision systems and even space exploration.”

It offers more than 80,000 energy efficient power management, analog, sensors, logic, timing, connectivity, discrete, SoC and custom devices used in computing, consumer, industrial, medical and military/aerospace applications.

It is also home to the American Institute for Manufacturing Integrated Photonics headquarters and its Testing, Assembly and Packaging facility.
