Meal delivery company RealEats plans to expand operations and create up to 400 jobs over the next five years.
RealEats sources, produces and ships fully cooked, vacuum-packed meals from its Geneva location, where it currently employs some 30 people. Its nearly $2 million expansion is support through state grants and tax credits.
Founded in 2017, RealEats delivers locally sourced, calorie-controlled, chef-cooked meals directly to homes. RealEats selected New York, and specifically the city of Geneva, for its expansion because of its central location in the Finger Lakes agricultural region. Geneva is also home to the Technology Farm and the newly created Center of Excellence in Food and Agriculture at Cornell AgriTech – the first of its kind facility which pulls together multiple partners to catalyze business development in New York’s agriculture and food industries.
